Relief to Tourism and Hotel Business Affected Due to Corona
Jaipur, March 22. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal regarding reducing the hotel and restaurant bar license fee to provide relief to Tourism Industry and Hotel Business passing through crisis due to Coronavirus effect. Shri Gehlot has also given approval to the proposal regarding reimbursement of the SGST of the first quarter of the forthcoming financial year.

 

 

It is to be mentioned that a delegation of Hotel Association had met the Chief Minister few days ago and had apprised him about the Industry facing the crisis as 80% of the bookings were cancelled because of Coronavirus. The hoteliers had demanded to provide relief to the Hotel and Tourism Industry.

 

 

Chief Minister on the demand of the delegation had reduced the annual bar license fee to provide relief to this business. Along with this, he has approved to reimburse SGST from April 2020 to June 2020.

 

 

   Requested Union Finance Minister to Give Relief

Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has also written a letter to Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman asking her to help in overcoming the crisis faced by the Tourism Industry due to Corona effect. Mentioning about the economic problems being faced by the Hotel Industry as entry of foreign tourists has been prohibited till April 15 and domestic tourists cancelling the bookings due to Coronavirus, Shri Gehlot requested Smt. Sitharaman to either give concession or postpone CGST, re-decide the installment of Bank loans of Hotels and give concession or extend the payment of Income Tax for next few months.
